Stay in Command With Ideal BMX Steering Equipment
For any BMX rider, having a configuration that reacts precisely to your commands is crucial. This is where steering plays a pivotal role. Much like the rest of the BMX, the equipment is designed to be robust and reliable.
While manoeuvring is done using the handlebars, various elements contribute to how you steer. For instance, the fork is key in determining the responsiveness of your steering. Additionally, the top cap helps to secure your headset, ensuring your bars can rotate effortlessly.
Is It Possible to Raise BMX Handlebars?
In the majority of cases, absolutely! You will require BMX Tools and an Allen key. Initially, start by loosening the bolts securing the stem. Following this, loosen the compression bolt. Once these are loose, you can slide the stem off the steering tube.
Subsequently, adjust the handlebars to your chosen height, possibly with the aid of spacers. Add the necessary number of spacers to the steering tube to achieve your desired height for the bar and stem.
Once you're satisfied, reinsert the stem back into its position and tighten it once more. Lastly, ensure the stem is aligned so the handlebar matches the fork's alignment. If reaching your preferred height isn't possible with spacers, you may want to explore a higher bar or a top load stem offering more rise.
