Aggressive Skates Frames / UFS Frames
Aggressive Inline Frames Designed for Grinding
One of the crucial components in your setup is the aggressive frame. It not only secures the wheels but also serves as the surface for grinding—a fundamental aspect of the sport. Generally, these frames are constructed from thick-walled plastics to endure the heavy impacts associated with grinding.
All aggressive frames are designed to accommodate the Universal Frame System (UFS) for mounting, ensuring compatibility with all aggressive boots, irrespective of the brand. UFS frames simplify and facilitate the customisation of your aggressive skate.
Varieties of Aggressive Skate Frames
A range of designs exists for aggressive inline skate frames, but the three primary styles include anti-rocker, flat, and freestyle.
Anti-Rocker
Anti-rocker frames are the most favoured style and are usually suggested for beginners in aggressive skating. They have four wheels per frame, with the middle two being smaller and composed of hard plastic. This configuration creates ample space for a substantial groove in the centre for grinding.
Flat
Flat frames are crafted to support four uniformly sized wheels. Unlike the anti-rocker system, all wheels make contact with the ground. This design offers superior handling compared to other setups, making it ideal for bowl skating and transition skating. With weight evenly distributed, your wheels are likely to enjoy an extended lifespan.
Freestyle
Freestyle frames are easy to identify as they incorporate only two wheels per foot, resulting in a significant groove in the centre of the frame. This feature optimises them for grinding and prevents wheel bite. With a freestyle frame, you can grind on a more diverse array of obstacles.
Whatever frame style you select, ensure it accommodates your wheels adequately. If you're in the market for a fresh set of wheels for your aggressive setup, visit our Aggressive Skate Wheels page.
