Klister Wax
Klister Wax: The Most Adhesive Kick Wax Available
Designed to offer additional traction on snow, klister wax is a type of kick wax ideal for use in conditions where the snow is exceedingly icy or wet. Standard kick wax may fail to adhere properly in such situations, but applying klister ski wax over the top can enhance grip significantly. There are various klister wax options tailored to specific temperature ranges, so select one based on the conditions you will be skiing in.
What is the Method for Applying Klister Wax?
This wax is packaged in a tube akin to that of toothpaste. Begin by applying small dabs of the wax to the kick zone, directly beneath the bindings, on both sides of the ski groove (approximately 1 cm apart). After application, use a scraper, waxing iron, or simply your thumb to spread the wax evenly across the grip zone, forming a thin layer. Once it is smoothed out, allow it to cool, and you are prepared to embark on the trails. As an alternative, klister spray wax can be purchased for a quicker and simpler application process.
