Guide to Installing HIC Compression

HIC stands for Hidden Integrated Compression. In this video, our scooter authority, Jonas, demonstrates the correct method to install HIC compression.

Start with: Installing your fork and headset

• Begin by positioning the initial bearing onto the fork
• Insert the fork into the head tube of your deck
• Position the second bearing within the upper bearing cup
• Secure the C-ring into the headset
• Attach the top cap of the headset

Following step: Fitting the HIC scooter compression

• Position the shim over the fork
• Next, take your HIC top cap and tighten it
• Ensure it is secure. Excellent work!

Grease: When assembling metal components, applying grease can simplify the process and also extend the longevity of your parts. For the installation of HIC compression, consider applying a small amount of grease to the two bearing cups as well as to the threading on your HIC top cap.
