Crafting a Custom Skateboard: Step-by-Step Guide
If you're aiming for a personalised skateboard with every component just right, then a custom build is essential. In this brief video tutorial, Jonas demonstrates how to assemble a complete skateboard swiftly.
- Begin by removing the foil, specifically the non-adhesive side
- Next, apply the griptape to the deck, starting from one end and moving upwards
- Rub the griptape with an Allen key or a screwdriver
- Trim the excess griptape with a box knife, cutting from beneath at an approximately 45° angle
- Sand the edges using the coarse side of the griptape leftovers
- Create holes in the griptape with an Allen key or screwdriver for the bolts to pass through
- Insert the bolts into these holes
- Attach the trucks onto the four bolts
- Secure the locking nuts and tighten them following a cross-pattern
- Repeat the process for the second truck
- Utilise the truck axle to fit the wheel bearings
- Please remember to place speed rings at both the top and bottom
- Tighten the locking nut, ensuring the wheel spins freely
- Repeat for the remaining wheels
