Installing a BMX Stem: A Step-by-Step Guide
With our straightforward video tutorial on Freestyle BMX stem installation, fitting a BMX stem is now twice as straightforward:
- Gently slide the stem onto the fork and ensure there is an adequate gap for the top cap to compress the stem onto the headset.
- If there is no gap or the gap measures less than 2-3mm, introduce a spacer between the headset and the stem.
- Rub grease onto the threads of your top cap, then use an Allen key to screw it on.
- Align the stem with the front wheel and carefully tighten the side bolts of the stem.
- Gradually tighten the side bolts, alternating between them to ensure they are tightened evenly.
Voilà! Your stem is now fitted, allowing you to proceed with installing your handlebars!
