Mini BMX Bikes
What is a Mini BMX Bike?
Mini BMX bikes represent a subset of BMX marked by their diminutive frames and robust, substantial wheels. Although compact, these bikes are designed to perform like standard freestyle BMX and endure substantial impacts.
Similar to full-sized BMX, mini BMX frames are crafted from Chromoly steel or hi-ten steel, guaranteeing a robust and durable arrangement. However, the handlebars are comparable in size to those on freestyle and race models. This results in mini BMX bikes boasting a distinctive appearance that will ensure you stand out at the skatepark.
How Mini BMX Differs from Regular BMX
The primary distinction lies in the tyres. Mini BMX tyres are 10 inches in diameter, compared to the 20 inches typical of freestyle tyres. This reduced diameter keeps the setup and centre of gravity nearer to the ground.
Additionally, the tyre tread is designed to provide enhanced grip on dirt tracks and when performing jumps at the skatepark. Due to their large, chunky wheels, most mini BMX bikes are produced without brakes.
Advantages of Owning a Mini BMX
Acquiring a mini BMX is undoubtedly an investment that you'll find worthwhile. The bikes are adaptable, suitable for various environments, allowing for practice on streets, dirt tracks, and at the skatepark. Furthermore, because they are intentionally small, there's no concern of outgrowing the bike, whether for yourself or a child.
