• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is a water-based glue without solvents, used in all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

For added strength at stress points inside the wetsuit, Ion has incorporated Melco tape to enhance durability. Ion advises: “If you accidentally leave the suit in the boot of your car on a hot day, they may begin to peel. Don't worry! Simply use an iron carefully on the affected area, as the glue responds to heat.”

• Contour Cut

These wetsuits are crafted to follow body contours, enhancing both flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits are equipped with a contour cut.

• Drain Holes

To prevent water build-up where fabrics overlap, drain holes are incorporated. These drain holes will not expand.

• Internal Key Pocket

Inside the wetsuit, there is a water-resistant internal pocket for keys.

• Supra Tex

Fabrics crafted for more exposed parts of the wetsuit - such as knee areas. The Supra Tex fabric is particularly abrasion resistant.

• Seal Tight

With optimised Seal Tight seams, the thin rubber stripes at legs, cuffs, and collar are less prone to damage, enhancing sealing.

• Maki Tape

Internally, the use of Maki Tape optimises flexibility, improves water resistance, and reinforces the seams.

• Ninja Knee

To further enhance the freedom of movement, the Ninja Knee increases elasticity at the knee areas.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

To bond neoprene panels effectively for outstanding water resistance, glueing is combined with blind stitch sewing to join the panels together.
