Pro Scooter Compression
What is Scooter Compression?
In a pro scooter, the compression system serves as the junction where the bar, fork, and deck are united. Its function is to firmly attach the scooter fork and bar, ensuring the bar is secured correctly. This reduces slack and prevents unwanted movement, allowing the handlebars to pivot smoothly.
A compression system is essential for every pro scooter. When selecting one, the main consideration should be its compatibility with your forks and bars. Your riding style and personal preferences can also influence the decision.

What are the Various Pro Scooter Compression Systems?
HIC Scooter Compression
HIC - Hidden Integrated Compression is the pioneering scooter compression, renowned for its reliability, lightweight build, and ease of maintenance. To install the compression, oversized bars (35 mm) or a scooter shim are required. Some HIC compression kits come with a shim.
IHC Scooter Compression
IHC - Internal Hidden Compression is a more compact and lighter variant of the HIC compression. Unlike most pro scooter compression systems, IHC is integrated into the fork itself, reducing the number of components to assemble. IHC systems work with aluminium bars with oversized clamps and standard steel bars (inner diameter 28 mm) using a shim and a standard clamp.
SCS Scooter Compression
SCS - Standard Compression System is the most robust compression system available. Its strength is attributed to a four-bolt clamp and no requirement for a bar slit. If a bar slit is present, an adapter can be used. Despite adding some weight, its stylish design makes it a preferred option for many riders.
ICS Scooter Compression
ICS - Inverted Compression System derives its name from the bolt being inserted vertically into the fork and secured to a star nut lodged in the bar. The ICS system is compatible solely with standard-sized bars that have a slit. It is notably lightweight and suitable for both steel and aluminium bars.
