Wheel hardness is indicated by a number followed by the letter A. Higher numbers denote harder wheels. The durometer affects a wheel's durability, grip on the road, and ability to absorb shocks.

Which Skateboard Wheels Should I Choose?

If you're a technical street skater, you might opt for smaller, harder skateboard wheels. Their lighter weight facilitates tricks that involve lifting off the ground, such as flip tricks. Some vert and bowl riders also favour hard wheels, although these are generally larger and wider to enhance stability, speed, and surface grip.

If cruising is more your style, softer skateboard wheels may be better suited. These wheels offer a smoother journey by better absorbing surface vibrations, ensuring each small road imperfection isn't felt.
