Description
Although the Shock Sleeve Pro Knee Gasket from Ennui does not offer the same degree of protection as a heavily padded, hard-cap protector, it certainly compensates by allowing unrestricted movement during your action sport.
An elasticated knitted cotton sleeve has been internally lined with silicone strips to prevent slippage, ensuring a secure fit and that the pads remain in place at all times. These pads are crafted from the specially developed material - SPC - co-created by the development teams at Ennui/Powerslide and the experts at MyFit - who produce skate liners for Powerslide.
This material not only absorbs impact shock but also aids in dispersing it throughout the structure - Ensuring that stress on your joints is minimised as much as possible. The Pro version is enhanced with an abrasion-resistant Kevlar coating, which offers more flexible comfort and protection than the non-pro version, allowing greater freedom of movement.
A notable advantage of this soft-shell protection is its lightweight nature and also the capacity to be worn under your regular clothing - Letting you remain stylish and fully protected simultaneously.
In addition to crash protection, the pro version also defends against slides with its high abrasion resistant Aramid fibre covering. A wise option for downhill longboarders and speed skaters. The pro model is also marginally lighter than the non-pro version, being almost weightless.

"Quite simply the last knee gasket you’ll ever want to buy. They’re discrete, supportive, and most importantly, a pleasure to fall in - to an extent that you’ll almost wish you were worse at skating."

"These gaskets are lovely and comfy and have certainly done the job when I’ve taken a tumble. I’m in my 40s so need to feel well protected, but capped knee pads felt too restrictive. These are fab. The fit is a bit tight. I measured properly and still they could have been bigger - I suspect they were designed around men whose thighs don’t get thicker the higher up you get like a woman’s does, but they do the job and they stay up. I’m very happy overall."

"Good quality pads. Fit under looser clothing. They get hard when cold but soften up when you've had them on for a while. I've not fell onto them yet so I can't say how effective they are at cushioning impacts."

"They are light, comfortable to where you don't notice to mutch that you are using them, you can get a bit worn, buy mutch better than a normal pad, plus as the foam is always soft only change in a big shock, so it gets hard as plastic and gives you the right protection at the right moment."

"Excellent sleeves! Expensive, but well worth it. The fit is spot on using the measurements in the size guide. They fit nicely under clothing and are a nice combination of flexibility and protection."

"Brilliant, worth the extra to go with these. Soft but Really protective. My boys are teenagers and don’t have the biggest legs but went for size L/XL and say the size is perfect for them. Others in the past, different makes in size M were too tight."

"It’s a comfortable fit with a large area of protection, completely brushed off falls that previously forced me to take a break (Or end the days session) previously. They are almost invisible under a pair of jeans, people didn’t really notice them unless I pointed out to them. One note is that I think at least as an inline skater you won’t be wearing shin pads in conjunction with these pads, given the extra surface area these ones cover below the knee"

"The fit is good and they look pretty cool. They also fit under baggier trousers or on top of skin tight ones. Not too rigid, so you can bend the knees and move freely. I feel more relaxed while on my skateboard when I wear them. I didn’t manage to fall yet while wearing, so unfortunately I am not able to review what they feel like upon impact, but I am sure it’s nicer than concrete! All in all I am happy with my purchase and invested in two more Ennui products."
